As the year approach its ending and a new one soon begins I would like to list my project for the next year. Not that I have any delusions on that I not will change my mind during the year but it is a great way to get my mind to ease. To plan and putting up some guidelines for my creativity is allways a way to focus and get things going.

 
Project 0: the blog

The first small change is this blog. I will try to write in English instead of Swedish, of two reasons: to be able to reach a bigger audience (all in vain I fear), and foremost to practice myself in expressing myself in the queens English. To be more adept to write in a more international language then Swedish are good and why not use this blog to serve that purpose? Project 1: the Quar

The models that got this blog started and even got myself back into miniatures and wargaming are the Quars that zombie smith makes. The head zombie Aaron Brown continues churning out alot of lovely models and the third book about the Quars was released this summer/fall. At the moment I have 27 royalist painted and 27 crusaders almost done and some more ordered. My goal is to make enough forces for demo game of this this Quars war and of songs for our ancestors for my gaming friends this spring.

 
Project 2: Terrain

A long time I have had a yearning to make my own gaming table. I have started but have a long way to go before I am finished. My goal is to finish the Quar village for the demo game, whish include making some fields, some houses, beehives, fences, scarecrows, bushes, bridges etcetera. The problem for this project is the space and the lack of a large hobby area in my apartment. All the parts mention above is possible to make at my currant desk but the planed landscape with hills and a little river is not. I will have to compromise with my fiancee about that part.

The other part of the terrain is that it should be suitable to double as terrain for my warmahoardes play and for my next project...

 
Project 3: VSF

I saw this miniature and I was in love. Ottomans in steam punk setting is right down my alley besides the Quar. The Victorian Science Fiction (VSF) is an intriguing setting with a lot of lovely characters and flavor. My goal is to slowly build a small Ottoman VSF force with a lot of greenstuffed/converted models and paint them to the best of my ability. I hope some of my gaming friends will follow suit and start some other VSF nation.

 
Project 4: Warmahordes

I will continue to play games with my Cryx and my Skorne forces. To this day I still just have lost two games out of nearly 30 but if I participate in some real tournaments I think I can get my ass handed to me. The problem with this game is that you have to have so many miniatures that arent that nice to be able to make all the different lists. My goal is to have a fully painted 35 pts Terminus force and slowly expand towards 50 during 2012.

 
Project 5: Blood Bowl

This is my favorite game to play but as I today have three fully painted teams and I have not played that much with two of them so I am not in no hurry to paint another one. Even so, I have 3-4 unpainted teams at home and if I get a surge they will get pained. My goal is to during 2012 paint one of my Nurgle, Chaos Dwarf, Lizardmen or Chaos teams, and beside off painting, continue to play in and help to organize the local league and NärkeBowl 2012.

Project 6: Board games

Beside miniature games I am a huge board game fan. To build an adjustable roborally gameboard and to paint the robots are an old dream that I maybe will do this year. But just to play civilization, chaos in the old world or a game of throne is enough to make me happy.

Other things (that might get in my way)

This spring and parts of the fall 2012 am I am studying neuropsychology beside working full time. I know that a large part of my spare time will have to read books and preparing for the lectures. I am also thinking about the post-apocalypse and all the wonderful miniatures different companies have for that genre and I would like to write a novel about evolution at some time, but that could wait another year.

Målade färdigt huset som jag byggde i tidigare post. Bilderna på huset blev dock inte så bra då blixten gjorde att de ser väldigt konstiga ut.

Vidare håller jag på att bygga ihop ytterligare 3 hus i samma stil (fast med skorsten :) ). Planen är att i längden bygga ett helt 4*4 fots bord med en liten gård i mitten. Framförallt är det för att vara passande terräng för mina Quar, men även warmahordes skall gå att spela.

Spelade även lite med mina Skorne i veckan och kan bara säga att eMorghul är snabb, oträffbar och likt en kryssningsrobot inställd på att döda motståndarens warcaster.

Beställde lite nya Quar då de är så snygga och bestämde mig att måla färdigt mina gamla Quars modeller till jul. Det är ett ambitiöst projekt men jag hoppas att jag ska kunna hålla i och göra färdigt dem. Vidare byggde jag ett hus för mina Quar ur en snabbmakarons kartong, Tejp, lim och en sax. Jag följde tips från dessa två sidor som jag kan rekomendera att ni läser om ni vill testa att bygga hus:

Efter detta bygge beslöt jag mig för att bygga några hus till men beslöt mig även för att investera i lite s.k foamboard för att underlätta byggandet och slippa irriterade buktande kartongväggar.

Ligan

pGorshade hade på 30pts nivå att möta pMakeda och hennes Skrone. En Bronzeback och Molik Kharn på 30 pts möte mig. En mycket jämn match där Tartarus slog in 16 skada på Makada i en enda attack och sammanlagt skapade 5 nya banethralls under matchen. Det blev dock en förlust pga lite strategiska misstag och en ordentlig missbedömning av hur mycket stryk en bronzeback tål. Jag trodde att 5 banethralls skulle döda en knockdowned bronzeback men den hade 16 liv kvar när de fem hade slagit. Nu vet jag det och kommer inte göra om det misstaget i första taget. Det är visserligen positivt att inser hur bra vissa av skornes warbeasts är då jag nyligen köpte ett gäng skornemodeller och har runt 70pts liggande i en låda. De skall testas imorgon i lite vänligare miljö än ligan. Andra misstag var att jag som vanligt ställde bort min pistolwraith, en modell som inte gjorde något men som skulle kunna hjälpt mig väldigt mycket på slutet. Malice var dessutom inte speciellt användbar mot Hordes men så är det bara... 

lärdomar:

*Tro inte att 5-6 banethralls slår ihjäl en bronzeback så håll sig borta från den med warcastern.

*Spela konservativt och passivt med dina pistolwraiths.

*Malice är inte så bra mot Hordes... (men det kan man inte göra så mycket emot i ligan)

Dock, eftersom ingen spelar med dem är det svårt att motivera sig att måla dem. Det är oftast lättare med motivationen när man ser modellerna på spelplanen ganska snart. Hursom, jag kommer beställa lite mer från zombiesmith nu när det finns ett erbjudande.

Hade tänkt att vara färdig med alla mina 27 royalister denna helg men inser att jag inte kommer hinna idag. Men, under veckan blir de nog färdiga. Tänkte dock visa upp de första 8:a som fick gå före i prodiktionskedjan för att jag skulle kunna visa upp dem.

Was supposed to be finished with all my 27 royalist this weekend but I realized that I will not have time today. However, during the week, they are probably finished. Thought however show up the first eight who had cut in line so that I could show them off.

Det är otroligt ansträngande att i längden göra modell efter modell meda samma färg så ibland är man värd att ta en liten genväg. Men de var bara på de sista stegen, basen och lite detaljer som dessa modeller trängde sig före i kön, annars är alla så gott som färdigmålade. Min arbetsyta får stå för bevis där ni kan se både royalisterna och de helt omålade chrusaderna.

It is boring that in the long run paint model after model in the same color so sometimes it worth taking a small shortcut. But they were only on the final steps, the base and a little detail that these models have that the others hasn't, otherwise they are all as good as painted. My desktop may account for evidence that you can see both the royalist and the primed crusaders.

Nu ska jag skynda mig så de övriga modellerna strax kan ta plats bredvid sina kompisar.

Som jag tidigare lovat ska ni få bilder på de färdigmålade blood bowl orkerna. Dock har inte de fyra starplayerna fått färdiga baser ännu så de får vänta någon dag. De sista två "vanliga" spelarna är i alla fall här, en thrower och en blitzer:

Nästa gång jag riggar för foto så tar jag en bild på hela laget, plus starplayerna. Sedan skrev jag ju att det var psykers som stod på tur men då hade jag inte räknat med lockelsen av Quar. För några dagar sedan fick jag nämligen mitt paket från zombiesmith.com med 68 (!) Quar. Dom är nu alla rengjorda och sprayade vita och då min impulsivitet inte kunde hållas tillbaka så snabbmålade jag två testmodeller för att testa lite färgschema. Innan vi tittar på de bilderna så måste jag bara påpeka att mitt mål med dessa Quar är att måla dem snabbt, samt att testa att måla på en vit grundfärg. Vanligtvis gör jag inte så men det är nya tider, roliga tider. Här är i alla fall mitt första försök att snabbmåla två modeller på vitt, en royalist och en crusader:

Next time I rig for a photo-op I will take a picture of the entire team, plus the star-players. Earlier I wrote that next in line was psykers but then I had not counted on the lure of the Quar. A few days ago I received my package from the zombiesmith.com with 68 (!) Quar. They are now all cleaned and sprayed white and then my impulsiveness could not be held back, I just had to paint two test models for a little color scheme test. Before we look at the pictures I just have to declare that my goal with these Quar is to paint them quickly, and to try to paint on a white primer. Usually I do not like that but there are new times, fun times. This is my first attempt to speed paint two models in white, a Royalist and a Crusader:

Som ni ser har det gått snabbt. Färgen är lite kladdig, men poängen är mer att få en känsla för färgschemat än att göra det perfekt. Så vad tycker ni?

As you can see it has been done in a hurry. The color is a bit sticky, but the point is more to get a feel for the color scheme than to make it perfect. So what do you think?
